General Checkout Information

  1. Every apartment must go through a cleaning inspection by the final day of the contract.

  2. If you are a tenant who will be staying through to the school year or summer you will need to go through an inspection.  Your bedroom will be checked for any damage or repair work.  Your window and light fixture must also be clean.  You will most likely want to be present at the apartment inspection because the last one in the apartment is ultimately responsible for the cleanliness.

  3. It is recommended that all tenants checkout out together as an apartment.  Any tenant checking out before the final inspection will have to have a checkout release form filled out and signed by ALL the remaining tenants.  **If this release form does not designate certain jobs to be checked it will be assumed that the remaining tenants are relieving the tenant checking out early of any cleaning responsibility.  THE LAST TENANT TO CHECKOUT IS ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CLEANLINESS OF THE APARTMENT.

  4. Failure to go through a cleaning inspection upon leaving will result in the forfeit of the security deposit.

  5. All checkouts must be scheduled by the deadline date  for that particular contract .  Appointments will be made on a first-come first-served basis.  If an appointment will need to be changed it needs to be done with a 24-hour notice.  Be ready when your appointment time comes!  You may call or contact us via email. (With the craziness at the end of the semsters, email may be the best!)

  6. Do not clean the carpets.  We will be having carpet cleaners coming in.

  7. A thorough cleaning is expected. The showers will come COMPLETELY clean if you use the right cleaning solution. I have found that a janitorial supply will be able to help you immensely! You can spend forever scrubbing with the wrong cleaning solution and get nowhere! I recommend Aslett Cleaning across from Kmart.

  8. If you will be selling your contract and checking out mid-year you will also need to go through a cleaning inspection. Your room and the bathroom will be checked. A repair walk-through will also take place. The remaining areas of the apartment will need to be clean and presentable to accommodate a new tenant.
